the snow comes back.

This nine hole course will challenge you as well as entertain you. "Putt" around the holes with your group. The location of this course is in between the gym and lake incase a larger group wants to split off and do other activities.
Lake Paddle Boats & Canoes
Do you want to enjoy are fun man made lake but don't want to get wet doing it? There is a possibility to do that with the paddle boats and canoes. Beware, when you are playing in water, there is always a chance of getting wet!
The paddle boats can hold up to three people in them. Paddle around the lake, race with other boats, or just relax and float around the lake.
If you want to canoe, but going on the river are too long of a trip for you, do it on the lake. You can canoe for a short time and still have time to do other activities.
The paddle boats and canoes are brought out of storage in the spring and is available up until Columbus Weekend in October.

River Canoeing
Canoeing is a fun and challenging activity, especially if you decide to do the river canoeing experience. It is not required to be a professional at this; in fact this is a chance for people who have never done canoeing to try this activity.
Your group will take a ride in Dickson Valley's retro looking bus and be transported over to Silver Springs State Park where they will go over the proper canoeing techniques and drop you off along with your canoes. Your group will then travel on a 3 mile journey on the Fox River till you get to the canoe landing on Dickson Valley property.
Typically the canoe experience will last for about 2 hours. The group size is usually 30 people with 3 per canoe (10 canoes in all). This activity is weather permitting and also depends on the level of the river.

Archery
Ready, Aim, Fire! The Archery course is tucked away on the trails. Guests are given brief instruction and safety tips on how to properly shoot a bow and arrow. They are then given the chance to try out their skills on the Archery Range. In the controlled environment with Dickson Valley Staff present, the activity is completely safe.
Up to six people at a time will have the chance to hit one of three targets. With enough practice it is likely that someone could get a bulls eye!

Challenge Course
This course currently includes 13 different elements designed to promote communication skills, problem solving abilities, and risk taking. By doing that the multiple groups of 10 to 15 people will work together as a team to complete the designated task.
The elements are designed so that Dickson Valley Staff are not needed to facilitate this activity. At the bottom of this page you can download a PDF copy of the Challenge Course Manual. This packet is very useful with a map of the course, the purpose of the course, key questions to ask to help process the experience, detailed explanation of each element, and bible verses to use with each experience.
